Steel Pans/Music Information

      

Attention 4th Graders!

For the 1st Trimester, 4th graders will be taught how to play Steel Pans by Mr. Belgrave. Starting in Trimester 2 (on November 29th) students will switch to traditional Music once again. Ms. Bishop’s class will meet on Mondays from 1:15 to 2:00 p.m. and on Thursdays from 11:30 to 12:15 p.m. for the second and third trimesters. Ms. Hill’s class will meet on Mondays from 11:30 to 12:12 p.m. and on Wednesdays from 1:15 to 2:00 p.m. for both trimesters. You will learn more about concert band instruments, how to make a sound on each and how to decide which concert band instrument that you would most like to play in the Fifth grade.

We will also study opera and watch an opera written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart for those of you who love to sing and want to learn more about intense vocal training.

Please plan to have some fun whether we are trying out band instruments, singing, playing some rhythm instruments or dancing.  It won’t be long before you are singing on stage with your class performing for your family and friends.  I can hardly wait until I see you again or meet some of you for the very first time.  Until November, keep some of the very best songs in your hearts!
